Henderson Academy of Music Studio Policy

Hello and thank you for considering in-home music lessons with Henderson Academy of Music!

About Us

Henderson Academy of Music provides one-on-one in-home music lessons for all major instruments, including:

Piano/keyboard, guitar, drums, voice/singing, bass, violin, trumpet, saxophone, and more.

Your teacher comes to your home for lessons, generally on a weekly basis.

Trial Lesson

We offer a no-commitment trial lesson. The trial lesson rates are the same as the regular lesson rates. This is a chance for you or your child to meet your teacher and try out a lesson before committing to a weekly schedule. Because we have a large team of teachers, you have the option to try out more than one teacher if you would like.

If you would like to continue with lessons after the trial lesson, you can confirm the day & time of the next lesson with your teacher.

After the trial lesson, please do all further scheduling with your teacher.

Books & Teaching Materials

Your teacher will bring any necessary books & teaching materials to the trial lesson. If you decide to continue lessons, you can either buy the book(s) from the teacher or purchase your own book(s).

Practice

Practice is important for students of all ages and skill levels. Expected frequency and length of practice sessions varies from student to student. In general, short, frequent practice sessions are preferable to one or two long sessions. The best way to progress is to practice a little bit every day. Talk to your teacher to determine the right amount of practice for you or your child.

Lesson Rates

Brent’s rates:

30-minute lesson: $50

45-minute lesson: $75

60-minute lesson: $100

All other teachers:

30-minute lesson: $40

45-minute lesson: $53

60-minute lesson: $65

Payment

Payment for the trial lesson is due on the day of the lesson.

If you want to move forward with lessons after the trial lesson, payment for each month is due on the day of the first lesson of the month. Talk to your teacher at the beginning of each month to set a schedule for the month so you know how many lessons to pay for. Then go on our website and pay for that month.

Pay for lessons here:

http://www.hendersonacademyofmusic.com/store/

If you ever need to miss a lesson that you prepaid for, payment for that lesson will be rolled over to the next month- simply pay for one less lesson the following month. An exception to this is lessons cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time (see cancellation policy below).

A billing statement will be emailed to you at the beginning of each month with the previous month’s lesson dates, payment amount, outstanding balance or credit towards the next month if any, and a reminder to make payment for the coming month.

Concerts

We may or may not have student concerts in your area, depending on where you live. In the cities in which we do hold concerts, we have two each year- one in winter and one in summer. Concerts are optional for all students. Students of all ages and skill levels are invited to perform.

Cancellation & Reschedule Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please let your teacher know as far in advance as possible.

24-hour cancellation policy: If you cancel or reschedule a lesson without notifying your teacher at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time, you will be charged the full amount for the lesson.

Switching Teachers

We have a large staff of teachers. If for whatever reason you feel like your current teacher isn’t a good fit, let me know and I will see if another teacher is available.

Questions & Concerns

If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call or email me.

We look forward to bringing music into your home!
