Orange County Area Guitar Teachers
Heath Alan Farmer
Heath Alan Farmer started his professional music career performing original music as a guitarist and vocalist at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA at the age of 16. Since then, the Orange County, CA native has composed and co-written songs for PBS, FOX Sports, CBS, VH1, TeenNick, USA Network, national marketing campaigns for Sprint and Sobe Drinks as well as in-park music for the Word-Famous San Diego Zoo. "Growing up in a corporate-minded region like central Orange County, it's very easy to feel alienated from a sense of culture." says Farmer. "But when I started learning guitar at a young age, I knew right away that I wanted to dedicate my life to the arts and I am grateful to be making a career in that now."
Heath plays lead guitar and sings for several Southern California based buzz-bands and is a musician and performer for the San Diego Zoo.
Scott Grady is a guitarist, composer and educator from Fullerton, California. Trained in classical guitar, he studied music composition and theory at Cal State Fullerton earning a master's degree in 2015. In 2016, Scott founded the classical-rock fusion group, The Mercy Stone. He teaches guitar, composition and music theory privately and is the guitar department leader at the Irvine School of Music. Scott also coaches rock bands and teaches beginning piano, bass guitar, ukulele and drums.
Scott's teaching experience in both classroom and individual instruction spans from preschool aged children to experienced adult musicians. His teaching approach is founded on identifying music which excites students and uses that music as a basis for building technique and musicianship.
As a performer and composer, Scott's experience with many different musical styles facilitates this process. He has studied, composed and performed an extremely broad range of music which includes classical, rock, pop/commercial music, flamenco, Eastern European folk music and West African drumming.
