Drum, Bass & Guitar Teacher Matthew Stallard
Matthew Stallard
Matt Stallard began his musical career playing snare drum in his middle school orchestra and drum set after school at his home in rural Virginia. He switched to bass in high school and began learning classic rock tunes by ear off of records and, after several years of playing in local bands around the state, he relocated to Atlanta to pursue his desire to play and teach music professionally. He undertook a rigerous regimen of private study and practice to hone his skills and became a fixture on the scene playing in numerous styles including, Rock, Reggae, Funk, Folk, Flamenco Bluegrass, Salsa, Country, Jazz and Latin Jazz. He also taught himself guitar and began performing on this instrument as well. His method of teaching all three instruments centers on demonstrating the accesability to all of the artform as well as imparting the fundamentals of music which he believes allows any student to become their own, best teacher.
